Oval Cut Lab Grown Diamond Stud Earrings 18K Gold

Oval cut diamond studs. Set north-south.
The Bellari Oval Cut Diamond Stud Earrings are set in a north-south orientation, the stone positioned vertically. This orientation elongates the visual line at the lobe, creating a presence that reads larger than the carat weight suggests.
Each stone is set in a four-prong basket in solid 18K gold, with prongs placed at the four corners of the oval. Both stones in a pair are matched for cut, colour, and clarity.
Available in two total weights.
- The 1ct pair carries 0.5ct per earring, a clean and wearable scale suited to daily wear.
- The 2ct pair carries 1ct per earring, a stronger presence that holds its own as a standalone piece.
Each pair is accompanied by an IGI certificate verifying the cut, colour, and clarity of the stones. Set in solid 18K gold. Finished with a butterfly push back closure.

Frequently asked questions
The stone:
What is a lab grown diamond?
What is a lab grown diamond?
A lab grown diamond is a real diamond. It is pure crystallised carbon with the same chemical composition, hardness and optical properties as a mined diamond.
The difference is origin. A lab grown diamond is formed in a controlled environment rather than beneath the earth. Once cut and polished, the two cannot be told apart without specialist laboratory equipment.
What is an oval cut diamond?
What is an oval cut diamond?
An oval cut is a brilliant cut diamond with an elongated outline. Its faceting follows the same principles as the round brilliant, so it returns strong brilliance, but in a softer, longer shape.
What is the bow tie effect in an oval diamond?
What is the bow tie effect in an oval diamond?
Many oval diamonds show a darker area across the centre, shaped like a bow tie. It comes from how light travels through an elongated stone. How visible it is depends on each stone's cut and proportions, which is why both stones in a Bellari pair are matched for cut.
What makes oval cut diamond different from round?
What makes oval cut diamond different from round?
A round diamond reads as a point of light. An oval reads as a line. Because the oval spreads its weight across a longer outline, an oval diamond typically shows a larger face than a round diamond of the same carat weight.
How does a lab grown diamond compare to moissanite?
How does a lab grown diamond compare to moissanite?
They are different stones with different character. Diamond returns light as bright, white brilliance. Moissanite has a higher refractive index and greater dispersion, which shows as more coloured fire.
Diamond is also slightly harder, at 10 on the Mohs scale against 9.25 for moissanite. Bellari offers oval studs in both. The choice comes down to which character you prefer.
Certification:
Do the diamond earrings come with a certificate?
Do the diamond earrings come with a certificate?
Yes. Each pair is accompanied by an IGI certificate verifying the cut, colour and clarity of the stones. The IGI is an independent gemmological laboratory, and its reports identify each diamond as lab grown.
What colour and clarity are the diamonds?
What colour and clarity are the diamonds?
Bellari selects diamonds graded D to E for colour and VVS2 to VS1 for clarity. D and E are the two highest colour grades, fully colourless. At VVS2 to VS1, any inclusions are not visible to the eye. The exact grades for your pair are recorded on the IGI certificate supplied with the earrings.
Are both diamonds in a pair matched?
Are both diamonds in a pair matched?
Yes. Both stones are matched for cut, colour and clarity before leaving our studio, so the pair reads as one.
Size and carat weight:
What does 1ct or 2ct total weight mean?
What does 1ct or 2ct total weight mean?
Total carat weight is the combined weight of both earrings. The 1ct pair carries 0.5ct per earring. The 2ct pair carries 1ct per earring.
How big are 0.5ct and 1ct oval diamonds?
How big are 0.5ct and 1ct oval diamonds?
A 0.5ct oval measures approximately 6 x 4mm.
A 1ct oval measures approximately 7.7 x 5.7mm.
Exact measurements vary with each stone's proportions.
Should I choose the 1ct or 2ct total weight pair?
Should I choose the 1ct or 2ct total weight pair?
The 1ct pair, at 0.5ct per earring, is a clean, wearable scale suited to daily wear. The 2ct pair, at 1ct per earring, has a stronger presence and holds its own as a standalone piece.
Does an oval diamond look bigger than a round diamond?
Does an oval diamond look bigger than a round diamond?
Yes. At the same carat weight, an oval typically shows a larger face than a round brilliant because its weight is spread across a longer outline. Set north south, it also lengthens the line at the lobe.
Setting, metal and wear:
What does north south mean?
What does north south mean?
North south means the oval is set vertically, with its length running from top to bottom. This orientation elongates the visual line at the lobe and suits most face shapes.
What is a four prong basket setting?
What is a four prong basket setting?
Each oval is held by four prongs, placed at the four corners of the stone, rising from a basket beneath it. The setting keeps the stone secure while leaving its full outline visible.
Are the earrings solid gold?
Are the earrings solid gold?
Yes. The earrings are set in solid 18K gold, which is 75% pure gold. They are available in yellow gold and white gold.
Should I choose yellow gold or white gold?
Should I choose yellow gold or white gold?
Yellow gold carries a warm tone that frames the oval with clear contrast. White gold carries a cool tone that blends with the stone, so the outline of the oval reads cleanly. Choose the metal that matches the jewellery you already wear.
