Pear cut diamond studs. A considered silhouette.

The Bellari Pear Cut Diamond Stud Earrings are built around the character of the cut. The pear is a stone with clear directional tension. A rounded base that draws to a single point, worn point-up so the tip sits toward the brow.

Each stone is individually set in a three-prong basket in solid 18K gold. The setting allows the full silhouette of the pear to read clearly from every angle.

Available in two total weights.

The 1ct pair carries 0.5ct per earring, a refined scale with clear presence at the ear.

The 2ct pair carries 1ct per earring, a more defined statement while maintaining a balanced, wearable profile.

Each pair is accompanied by an IGI certificate verifying the cut, colour, and clarity of the stones. Set in solid 18K gold. Finished with a butterfly push back closure.

Pear cut. Point up. A foundational diamond piece within the Bellari collection.

This is a made-to-order piece, crafted with intention and care. Please allow a crafting time of 10 business days before shipping.

Frequently asked questions

The stone:

What is a lab grown diamond?

What is a lab grown diamond?

A lab grown diamond is a real diamond. It is pure crystallised carbon with the same chemical composition, hardness and optical properties as a mined diamond.

The difference is origin. A lab grown diamond is formed in a controlled environment rather than beneath the earth. Once cut and polished, the two cannot be told apart without specialist laboratory equipment.

What is a pear cut diamond?

What is a pear cut diamond?

A pear cut is a brilliant cut diamond with a rounded base that draws to a single point, like a teardrop. It combines the brilliance of a round stone with the length of a marquise.

What makes pear cut different from round or oval?

What makes pear cut different from round or oval?

Round and oval diamonds are symmetrical from end to end. A pear has direction: one rounded end and one point. That gives it more movement and a more distinctive silhouette at the ear.

How does a lab grown diamond compare to moissanite?

How does a lab grown diamond compare to moissanite?

They are different stones with different character. Diamond returns light as bright, white brilliance. Moissanite has a higher refractive index and greater dispersion, which shows as more coloured fire.

Diamond is also slightly harder, at 10 on the Mohs scale against 9.25 for moissanite. Bellari offers pear studs in both. The choice comes down to which character you prefer.

Certification:

Do the earrings come with a certificate?

Do the earrings come with a certificate?

Yes. Each pair is accompanied by an IGI certificate verifying the cut, colour and clarity of the stones. The IGI is an independent gemmological laboratory, and its reports identify each diamond as lab grown.

What colour and clarity are the diamonds?

What colour and clarity are the diamonds?

Bellari selects diamonds graded D to E for colour and VVS2 to VS1 for clarity. D and E are the two highest colour grades, fully colourless. At VVS2 to VS1, any inclusions are not visible to the eye. The exact grades for your pair are recorded on the IGI certificate supplied with the earrings.

Are both diamonds in a pair matched?

Are both diamonds in a pair matched?

Yes. Both stones are matched for cut, colour and clarity before leaving our studio, so the pair reads as one.

Size and carat weight:

What does 1ct or 2ct total weight mean?

What does 1ct or 2ct total weight mean?

Total carat weight is the combined weight of both earrings. The 1ct pair carries 0.5ct per earring. The 2ct pair carries 1ct per earring.

How big are 0.5ct and 1ct pear diamonds?

How big are 0.5ct and 1ct pear diamonds?

A 0.5ct pear measures approximately 7 x 4.5mm.

A 1ct pear measures approximately 8.5 x 5.5mm.

Exact measurements vary with each stone's proportions.

Does a pear diamond look bigger than a round diamond?

Does a pear diamond look bigger than a round diamond?

Yes. At the same carat weight, a pear typically shows a larger face and reads longer than a round brilliant, because its weight is spread across an elongated outline.

Should I choose the 1ct or 2ct total weight pair?

Should I choose the 1ct or 2ct total weight pair?

The 1ct pair, at 0.5ct per earring, is a refined scale with clear presence at the ear.

The 2ct pair, at 1ct per earring, is a more defined statement while keeping a balanced, wearable profile.

Setting, metal and wear:

Should pear studs be worn point up or point down?

Should pear studs be worn point up or point down?

Bellari pear studs are designed to be worn point up, with the tip toward the brow. This draws the eye upward and lifts the line of the face. Worn point down, the stone reads as a drop.

What is a three prong basket setting?

What is a three prong basket setting?

Each pear is held by three prongs rising from a basket beneath the stone. One prong secures the point, the most delicate part of a pear cut, and two hold the rounded base. The setting lets the full silhouette of the pear read clearly from every angle.

Are the earrings solid gold?

Are the earrings solid gold?

Yes. The earrings are set in solid 18K gold, which is 75% pure gold. They are available in yellow gold and white gold.

Should I choose yellow gold or white gold?

Should I choose yellow gold or white gold?

Yellow gold carries a warm tone that frames the oval with clear contrast. White gold carries a cool tone that blends with the stone, so the outline of the oval reads cleanly. Choose the metal that matches the jewellery you already wear.

What type of back do the diamond earrings have?

What type of back do the earrings have?

The earrings are finished with a butterfly push back closure. It slides onto the post and holds firmly behind the lobe.

If you would prefer a screw back or another closure, contact our team at hello@bellari.com.au to arrange a custom option.

What face shape suits pear earrings?

What face shape suits pear earrings?

Pear studs suit most face shapes. Worn point up, the upward line adds length and definition, which balances round and square faces in particular.

Can I wear pear diamond studs every day?

Can I wear pear diamond studs every day?

Yes. Diamond is the hardest gemstone, solid 18K gold does not tarnish, and the prong at the tip protects the point. The butterfly push back closure holds firmly behind the lobe. Remove the earrings before swimming and when applying lotions or perfume.

Can I wear pear studs in a second piercing?

Can I wear pear studs in a second piercing?

Yes. The 1ct total weight pair, at 0.5ct per earring, sits well in a second piercing next to a round stud.

The 2ct pair is usually worn in the first piercing as the main stud.
